The Nintendo Direct has left everyone amazed with exciting surprises! But the biggest twist comes with “Super Mario Bros. Wonder” a new classic 2D game that revolutionizes everyone’s favorite plumber franchise.
While maintaining its original essence, this title presents a charming and innovative aesthetic, blending the traditional style of 2D games with soft, rounded touches inspired by the success of the Illumination film.
What’s new?
From what we know so far, in “Super Mario Bros. Wonder” players can unleash magic by touching the Wonder Flower, which has two effects: transforming Mario or modifying the environment. That’s right! Pipes come to life, the surroundings darken, and Mario takes on new transformations, including an elephant, a spiked ball, or a stretched shadow.
Now, if Mario isn’t your favorite character, don’t worry. You can choose between Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, Luigi, and Toad to play cooperatively. There’s room for everyone!
How has Super Mario changed since the first game?
The first Super Mario Bros. game was released was in 1983—a simple 2D adventure of pixels, platforms, and races against time. The core of the game remains the same, capturing Mario’s spirit as a platformer, as seen in the movie with Peach’s training circuit.
After numerous sequels and spin-offs, Super Mario Bros. would receive a power-up as “New Super Mario Bros.” in 2006, this time for the Nintendo DS console. Since then, it has seen new versions, with second and third installments for Wii, Wii U, and even Switch if we count Mario Maker.
While the gameplay remains the same with platforms, time limits, and special abilities, there have been changes in design, as well as the ability to play on multiplayer mode with friends.
Now, how has the world changed since the first Super Mario?
Many years have passed since then. But if we could travel back in time to see those who played with Mario for the first time, we would tell them:
- There will be a Mario movie that will be a beautiful adaptation of the video games. No, don’t watch the live-action one.
- There will be a character named Waluigi, and he will be an internet sensation. But he won’t be in Super Smash Bros.
- There is another princess named Daisy. She will be in Super Smash Bros.
- What is Super Smash Bros.? It’s a fighting game. You’ll like it.
It’s been many years since the beginning of this story. But only 4 years have passed since the release of “New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe” in 2019 for the Switch. When can we enjoy “Super Mario Bros. Wonder”?
When does it come out?
Mark your calendar for October 20th when it will arrive on Nintendo Switch! Get ready to immerse yourself in a classic yet renewed adventure where the world of Mario comes to life with its characteristic charm and new emotions.
