In our previous article we took a brief walk on the Covid-19 and the rise of E-Commerce and today, we delve a little deeper into the behavior of E-Commerce during confinement and how it has impacted large and small companies.
Without realizing it, the pandemic has caused a great stir at the technological level, and it is where we can see that in crisis situations, the individual seeks the survival instinct. In this case where we see how the capabilities of small and large companies have been taken to another level, we notice a great step in the technological world.
Then, worldwide, e-commerce was already a revolution, where large companies such as Amazon, Alibaba, MercadoLibre or eBay provided services and settled as the greats within the electronic medium.
During Covid-19, Amazon, for example, hired nearly 100,000 employees to provide better Prime service. In Spain, supermarkets, like Mercadona or Carrefour, had a decrease in their online purchases because of the collapse they presented on their page. Others, such as MercadoLibre, have made improvements to their platforms to optimize the shopping experience. Companies and restaurants are managed under this business model, and many of them are unknown to us, since traditional companies have also joined E-Commerce.

Regarding what we were talking about earlier, we can see that the needs of the Maslow pyramid have undergone a change, we realize that the needs are no longer just food and medicines, now are secondary needs such as entertainment.
